Onlocation in Faversham – On the boat with my gorgeous nephew Reuben
As usual my sister Bec was out and about with husband Ryan and their little pumpkin head toddler Reuben. When I called they were on their way to Faversham Reach to spend a couple of hours on the boat, acclimatising Reuben. The invite “come on down!” How could I resist …. not taking my CAMERA haha! Its been a while since I photographed my little nephew, so some up-to-date pics were definitely well overdue. So into the Sat Nav went Faversham Reach and within 15 minutes I had arrived ….. Im now on the phone … where are you? Then I heard “Jo …. Jo …. Jo” and there peaking his cute little head out of the hatch was Reubs, fresh faced and as smiley as ever! My sister was completely unaware that I had my best friend with me, so as soon as she found out, pictures of my sis were out of bounds. So pure focus on Reubs was totally the plan. He was not camera shy at all, although he would laugh at me, when my camera was down, so it was a little tricky having the camera there to capture his cute chubby little cheeky smile. Usually 2 year olds have their heads permanently fixed downwards, but Reubs was looking everywhere, and he was even posing, a 2 year old REALLY!! I am sure this is a first, although I am his auntie, so I am sure that must have had an influence on his ease infront of the lens, his auntie’s lens. onlocation photographer faversham
The boat has a confined space to work within, so I tried to use different perspectives, moving around to change the backdrop. I took with me 2 lenses, my multipurpose 24-70 and a 50mm 1.4f and these worked just fine. onlocation photographer faversham
The bread …. featured pretty heavily throughout pics, but it was a leisurely, ad-hoc, as it is, relaxed style of photography. Nothing planned, just as he was. I did take a sneaky few pics of my Sister and Ryan, how could I honestly resist not, even with the strictest of orders, but Im sure I was forgiven, sisters obligation. onlocation photographer faversham
We were there for a couple of hours, we enjoyed some delcious yummy fried egg rolls, played a fair amount of peep po and I grabbed any chance of a cuddle when I could. We chatted and laughed, whilst I took sneaky snaps of the little pickle whilst he explored the deck and his new surroundings. The smiles did falter when it was time to go home, but that didn’t last too long and he was back charging around the harbour with that great big playful grin on his face.
I had a really lovely time and Reubs was just glowing with warm smiles and mischievous laughter.
